MBM is one of the few manufacturers of garden furniture that combines design, development, production and marketing under one roof. In addition to our own sales platforms, there are a large number of selected specialist dealers and partners who offer MBM designer furniture and provide expert advice to customers of the brand. MBM even has the largest in-house production of garden furniture of all European manufacturers and importers. In addition to our company headquarters in the Munich area, this includes a furniture factory in Surabaya (Java, Indonesia) with 1,400 employees and a production area of over 40,000 m2. Furniture made of FUREMA has been produced there since 2006. Over the years, they have built up a unique know-how in the production of furniture from the extremely sustainable material, so that garden furniture is also produced there for other furniture brands that also want to have sustainable products made from FUREMA in their range.
When it comes to high-quality garden, patio and outdoor furniture, demands are becoming more intense. It is no longer enough to combine fancy designs with good functionality; increasingly, products made of sustainable materials with a high level of cost-effectiveness are expected. MBM has recognised this trend for years and made it a main component of its entire product portfolio. We have been making furniture from the design material FUREMA for over 15 years. Over the years, we have built up a unique know-how in the production of furniture from this highly sustainable material, so that garden furniture is also produced in our factory for other furniture brands that also want to have sustainable products made from FUREMA in their range.
The design and development of our garden furniture takes place in-house in collaboration with innovative, creative and experienced specialists. Hand in hand, design ideas are generated and further developed until they are ready for production. We like to be inspired by moods and special moments. We imagine what experiences our customers will have with their new MBM garden furniture and try to embody these moments in the shapes we design for our products. It is important for us not to follow every trend; as our garden furniture is intended to remain in use for a very long time, it also has to have a certain timelessness.
At our production facility in Surabaya, the highest material standards meet the highest level of craftsmanship. As a specialist in the production of garden furniture made of FUREMA, we benefit on the one hand from the industrial production of FUREMA, which ensures a consistently high material quality. On the other hand, there is a very long tradition of furniture making in Indonesia. Originally, of course, mainly wooden furniture had been produced there since 1995. As FUREMA can be worked very similarly to wood, this know-how was transferred to the material FUREMA and developed further, enabling our plant in Surabaya to build up a unique knowledge of materials and production.
